Michelle has been a teacher for over 15 years. She values the contribution of parents to their students’ education and believes that learning should be fun. Michelle holds a Master of Science degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a professional credential. She and her husband are parents of two students who currently attend La Sierra Academy. In between teaching, Michelle enjoys running, mountain biking, racquetball, and traveling.

Belleau, Tamara, Grade 6

Tami Belleau has taught all subjects in grades 7-10, K-1 and now 6th grade.  After attending Pacific Union College, Pacific University and La Sierra University, Mrs. Belleau received degrees in social work and education as well as teaching credentials.  Mrs. Belleau is very excited about teaching and has an active, hands on classroom.  Her primary goal in Adventist Education is that her students get to know their personal friend Jesus Christ.  Mrs. Belleau’s “free” time is spent with her son and husband exploring and learning about the world which God gave us.

Mr. Bernal has been in Adventist education for over 25 years and has taught at La Sierra Academy since 1986. He holds a Master of Arts degree in Education and endorsements in K-12 Religion and Elementary Education. As an educator Mr. Bernal’s motto is “train them for life and life eternal.” For recreation, he enjoys trains and bikes.

Brown, Robin, Grade 4

Robin Brown has taught every grade from 3rd to Jr. High and High School English.  She has her Bachelor’s in Education from Walla Walla College and a Masters in Reading Education form Andrews University.  In her free time, Mrs. Brown likes to spend time with her family, read and ride her horses.

Clegg, Carolyn, Grade 1

Carolyn Clegg ahs spent 18 years teaching in our church schools, with all of her experience in grades 1-4.  She joined the LSA staff two years ago, and enjoys the atmosphere of family and community on this campus.  Carolyn loves being part of the first graders’ reading journey, and is committed to providing the academic skills her students need, while nurturing their spiritual, emotional, and social development as well.  She has a masters degree in curriculum and teaching from La Sierra University.  Carolyn loves spending time with her husband and two daughters and enjoys reading, scrap booking, and taking long walks with her dog.

Mrs Elkins' philosophy of education is "to encourage each child's unique characteristics; to laugh with them, listen, play, and be there with a Christian heart when needed." She has been in Adventist education for over 17 years; she joined the LSA family in 2001. For fun, Anita loves quilting, reading, and cooking.

Fattic, Linda, Grade 2

Mrs. Fattic has served LSA untiringly since she joined the faculty in 1976. In fact, she has in some cases taught students of her former students, and some of her students now work at LSA! Linda, desires to “help each student know Jesus as his or her best Friend.” She enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her grandson, Nate.

Ms. Fong, Jessica, Kindergarten

Ms. Fong received her BA in English from La Sierra University and her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction.  She also holds a basic denominational credential.  When not in the classroom, Jessica enjoys playing tennis, biking, traveling, and photography.  She believes in “leading by example” and that creativity is a key ingredient in teaching.

Since 1978, Mrs Lewis has been teaching at LSA. She has a Bachelor of Science degree and holds an SDA professional credential. Doyne says, "Children should look forward to coming to school each day, where they will find fun, happiness, and a loving environment in which to learn." She enjoys traveling, reading, nature, and spending time with her adult children and their spouses.

Paula is a Licensed Vocational Nurse and Pathfinder Masterguide who is plays the roll of teacher’s aide and yard supervisor during the school-day. She firmly believes that God is the foundation of true education and that knowledge of Him is essential for academic excellence. She enjoys camping, hiking, and pathfinders.

Carol has been greeting visitors to our elementary campus since 2002 when she joined the staff. A La Sierra Academy graduate, she has since serve in and retired from the US Navy. Her husband, Daric, is also an alumnus of LSA. Together, they enjoy spending time with their two children who also attend LSA.

A La Sierra Graduate (Class of 1970), Mrs Patch joined the staff in 1989. She is the librarian for the elementary school. She enjoys reading, beach activities, and having fun with her grand-daughter, Jordyn, who also attends La Sierra Academy.

Cella enjoys gardening and dirt bikes. She believes that “education can take you any place.” Cella puts her 25 years experience in Adventist education to work each day in our extended care division. She also does elementary yard supervision in the elementary school.

Mrs. Spence has earned a Master's degree in education and a bachelor's degree in business administration. She is also a Certified Public Accountant. "I desire to share Christ with all my students," she says. "The teaching of basic skills will lead to habits and knowledge needed to become a good person." Kathy enjoys camping, skiing, reading, and spending time with family.
