LSA Alumni Page

Among the most important assets of a great high school university are its alumni who, through their professional achievements and loyalty to their alma mater, define the future of the school. Founded in 1922, La Sierra Academy has nearly 8000 alumni and countless friends and supporters. This web page is dedicated to you. Please make it a habit to visit often as we continue to improve its contents with programs, school news, events, and opportunities for alumni involvement. And invite a friend to join the LSA alumni community.

From Sue Barnhart Garritano: "I'm looking forward to reconnecting with my classmates from the Class of '71.

Anthony Michael "Tony" Sheppard formerly of Santa Rosa, died quietly at his home in Hidden Valley Lake with his dog Chino by his side. He was 45 years old. Tony is survived by his two sons: Nicholas and Derek; his parents Bobby and Margaret; and his wife Judy. He also leaves behind his sister Leah "Kristi" (Craig) Balderson and their son Joey; as well as his brother Jeremy (Andrea) Sheppard and their daughter Kayren. Tony was predeceased by his long-time friend John Herbst, and is further survived by a vast array of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Tony was born in San Jose, CA, and graduated from La Sierra Academy in Riverside, CA. After he moved back to Northern California, he worked many years for the County of Sonoma. Bilingual because of time spent living in Lima, Peru, Tony was able to use those skills in his work, serving the community through the departments of DA Family Support and Transportation and Public Works, where he leaves many friends bereft at his loss. Tony was a die-hard Dodgers fan (despite the unpopularity of that position here), an avid golfer, an enthusiastic guitarist, and a man in love with his sons, who were the light of his life. A big teddy bear of a man, he was known for his devotion to his family, work, and for always having a smile on his face. He leaves many feeling cheated that he couldn't be here longer. He will be dearly missed. Trust funds have also been established for each of Tony's sons at Wells Fargo Bank.
